Sleep, breathe, and hear better for optimal long-term cognitive health, improved quality of life, and performance.

As an ENT surgeon and someone who has spent time in the medical device industry, he's been trained to push for precision and performance at the highest level.

The Mission Behind the Medicine

Raised as a first-generation Cuban American, Dr. Gus grew up with a deep respect for hard work, resilience, and the weight of opportunity.

His fascination with science has always been inseparable from a deeper mission: to help people function better, and to hold every tool - clinical or consumer - to the highest possible standard.

That standard drives everything Dr Gus touches, from the content he creates to the products he endorses or launches, to the protocols he publishes, the question is always the same: would I recommend this to my own patients?

Then his younger brother was diagnosed with oropharyngeal cancer.

What followed— surgery, radiation, chemotherapy— changed everything. He was no longer the doctor in the room. He was the family member watching someone he loves struggle to swallow, fight to stay hydrated, and push through weeks of treatment where his mouth and throat felt like an open wound that never got to rest.

He made it through. They all came out the other side. But he couldn't stop thinking about the gap — between what standard care offered and what patients actually need in those moments.

Dr Gus started to think “what would that solution even look like?”

So he decided to create it with Nyra.

Introducing Nyra

What started as an innovative idea for post-op care has evolved into a category-defining vision:
a surgeon-formulated, patient-friendly brand and product line
that patients and physicians in his community could trust.

A brand that helps people prevent, prepare, and recover across all stages of ENT health, from everyday relief to surgical prep and recovery.

“And as a surgeon who has spent years caring for patients across the full range of throat and oral conditions, I know that spectrum is wide.”

Nyra was built for the hardest case.

But it's here for all of them.
